Notifications

Choose how Kalima notifies you and manage email preferences.

Kalima keeps you informed about the things that matter, including team invitations, subscription changes, and approaching usage limits. This page explains the kinds of notifications you can receive, the channels they arrive on, and how to control the emails you get.

How notifications work

When something important happens on your account, Kalima creates a notification with a short title, a message, and, where relevant, a link that takes you straight to the action, such as accepting an organization invitation or updating a failed payment. Each notification can reach you through one or more channels. Alerts surface in-app, where billing and payment reminders appear as banners. Account, team, and billing events can also be sent to your inbox so you don't miss them when you're away. Where your device and browser support it, time-sensitive alerts can be delivered as push notifications.

By default, in-app and email delivery are switched on so you stay in the loop without any setup.

What you get notified about

These are the main events that trigger a notification:

NotificationWhen it happens
Organization invitationSomeone invites you to join their organization
Member joinedA new member joins an organization you belong to
Subscription changeYour plan is upgraded, downgraded, canceled, or renewed
Usage limit warningYou're approaching a usage limit, with an earlier heads-up and a more urgent alert near 95 percent
Promo redeemedA promo code is successfully applied to your account
Note

Usage warnings give you time to act before you run out. You'll get an early notice as you approach a limit and a more urgent one when you're nearly there. See Usage and Quotas for how limits and resets work.

Emails from Kalima

Beyond event notifications, Kalima sends a few kinds of helpful emails:

  • Onboarding and tips: a short welcome series to help you get value from Kalima after you sign up.
  • Reminders: gentle nudges, including payment-failure reminders so you can fix a card before your service is affected.
  • Account and security notices: verification, password reset, receipts, invitations, and similar essential messages.

Emails are sent in your account's language where a translation is available, and otherwise fall back to English. You can change your account language on the Language Settings page.

Managing email preferences

Every marketing and lifecycle (sequence) email includes a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it turns off those promotional and onboarding emails for your account right away, no sign-in required, and shows you a confirmation page.

1
Open any marketing or onboarding email from Kalima.
2
Scroll to the bottom and click the unsubscribe link.
3
You'll see a confirmation that you've been unsubscribed from those email sequences.
Note

Unsubscribing only stops marketing and lifecycle emails. Essential account and security messages, such as email verification, password reset, and payment receipts, are always delivered, because they're needed to keep your account working.

Frequently asked questions

Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any such email. That turns off the promotional and onboarding email sequences for your account and shows a confirmation page. Essential account emails like verification and password reset still come through.

Unsubscribing stops marketing and lifecycle sequences, but not essential account and security emails. Verification links, password resets, payment receipts, and similar transactional messages are always sent so your account keeps working as expected.

Notification preferences default to sensible settings, with in-app and email delivery switched on. A dedicated in-app screen for toggling each notification channel isn't broadly available yet. For now, the unsubscribe link is the way to opt out of marketing and lifecycle emails.

Push delivery is supported where your device and browser allow it. If your environment doesn't support push, you'll still receive the same alerts in-app and by email.

Emails follow your account language where a translation exists and otherwise default to English. Kalima's interface and emails are fully translated in English and German. Set your preference on the Language Settings page.
